COUNSELING APPROACH
Our approach combines structure with open-ended dialogue. We use the Prepare/Enrich program to guide the sessions, which is a well-established tool for identifying strengths and areas for growth. After completing the initial assessment, your facilitator will review the results with you and tailor the sessions accordingly. Sessions often include communication exercises, reflection activities, and optional homework to strengthen your connection outside of therapy.
THERAPIST CONSISTENCY AND EXPERIENCE
Your therapist will remain the same throughout all sessions, in shaa Allah. Our therapist, Hanan El-Shennawy, LMFT, and Director of Counseling at Rahma Center, brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her work. She is deeply dedicated to supporting individuals and families, and her extensive background allows her to connect with clients in a meaningful and effective way.
SESSION LOGISTICS
Sessions are 60 minutes long and can be conducted either in person or online, depending on your preference. Most sessions are held jointly, but individual sessions may be scheduled if needed, based on the couple’s dynamics and the therapist’s recommendation.
FORMAT & PERSONALIZATION
While the sessions follow a general framework, they are highly personalized to each couple’s needs. Topics covered include religion/spirituality, communication, trauma, family background, conflict resolution, finances, intimacy, parenting, and any other concerns the couple wishes to explore.
FEES & PACKAGES
The premarital counseling package includes 6 sessions for $750 ($125 per session). Individual sessions are available at $150 each. Please note that session fees are non-refundable and must be completed within 3 months.
The assessment questionnaires are administered by an independent third-party service, and there is a one-time fee of $35 per person (for both you and your fiancé). This fee is not included in the counseling package, as the assessments are provided externally. Once completed, the assessment results are shared with the facilitator, who will review and discuss the areas of compatibility and incompatibility during your sessions.
